Viewers of Nebraska Educational Television Monday night may have caught a glimpse of Imperial artist Armando Villarreal.
Nebraska Stories aired a feature of the artist working on a painting of David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox.
Sally Walsh, art director for Victory Fine Arts, the company Villarreal works for, called him “the foremost sports artist of his generation.”
In speaking of his work, Villarreal said “I want to take you to a place that brings out the emotion of the viewer. To be a part of the game.”
Asked what he considered his best work, Villarreal replied “My next painting is my best painting.”
