Everyone knew Pepi Roni, owner of La Sperenza, a popular family-run restaurant in New York’s Little Italy.
But apparently not everyone loved him. Pepi was murdered and the list of suspects includes his family.
That’s the beginning of the “Pasta, Passion & Pistols” melodrama to be presented by the Friends of the Lied Imperial Public Library Feb. 27.
The public is invited to attend and try to determine who the murderer is.
The play will begin at 7 p.m. at the library. Admission is $5. The audience will be able to question suspects at the end of each round and will also be given clues throughout the evening. Appetizers will be served.
Suspects include Mama Rosa, Pepi’s wife; his daughter Angel Roni and her fiance Bo Jalais; Pepi’s son Marco Roni; his brother Rocco Scarfazzi of Italy and his fiancee Tara Misu; priest Father Al Fredo and Rosa’s astrology advisor Clair Voyant.
This is the second year the Friends of the Library have invited the public for a fun evening of mystery and discovery.
