More than $5,700 goes to hospital from Pink-Out fundraiser PDF Print E-mail

The Chase County Hospital Foundation was presented a check for $5,733 Friday night at halftime of the girls’ varsity basketball game from funds raised by the Imperial FFA chapter at its annual Pink-Out game with Perkins County. Above, Hospital CEO Steve Lewis acknowledges the donation along with hospital foundation member Sam McNair, far left. Lewis said the donated funds will go into the cancer walk fund to help people receiving cancer treatments to pay for items that insurance does not cover, such as gasoline for travel, a meal or motel room. Making the presentation were FFA parliamentarian Travis Luhrs, second from left, and Kevin Chavira, chapter treasurer. FFA Advisor Jason Speck noted the chapter raises its Pink-Out funds from business/individual sponsorships and sale of the Pink-Out T-shirts. Lewis said area residents who know of someone who may be in need of such cancer treatment assistance can contact Deb Hrcka at the hospital clinic. (Republican photo)
