Fundraiser for active Wallace woman this Sunday PDF Print E-mail

Mike and Susie Maupin have long helped people in the Wallace community through the Mikey Ride, an annual event that includes a motorcycle poker run, auction and meal for charity held on the third weekend in July.
In November, however, Susie Maupin was diagnosed with cancer and now the community of Wallace and the region are coming together to help a couple that has helped so many over the years.
A benefit is slated for Sunday, Jan. 25 at 11 a.m. CT at the Wallace High School gym. A free will donation meal, followed by an auction, will be held.
The event is sponsored by the Wallace Fire and Rescue Department, of which Mike was a member for 25 years.
“The Maupins are delightful people and have done a great deal for the community over the years,” Leslie Chrisman said. “This event is just a small payback for all of their generosity they have shown the community over the years.”
Mike has helped with the Wallace ball fields and is the main fundraiser for the Wallace Fall Festival every year. Every step of the way Susie has been by his side, involved with various community projects like 4-H.
“They have been involved with just about everything,” Chrisman said.
