After a month of afternoon samplings, Imperial’s new winery Broken Arrow Cellars will celebrate today (Thursday) with its Grand Opening.
Things will kick off as 2 p.m. when representatives of the Imperial Chamber of Commerce will join owners Steve and Deborah Schilke for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The business producing six wines and five craft beers is located at the northwest edge of Imperial at the Highway 6/Grant St. intersection.
The Grand Opening will be held from 2 to 8 p.m.
Co-owner Deborah Schilke said hors d’oeuvres will be served all day, and patrons will have the chance to sign up for free drawings. Three winners, who must be present to win, will receive products from Broken Arrow Cellars, she said.
Rob Browning on piano will provide music starting at 4 p.m.
Mrs. Schilke said the family will have introduced three additional wines since opening Nov. 12 for a total of six when Thursday arrives.
Patrons will also be able to taste four craft beers on tap and one signature beer.
