The Vision of Trees, to be held at the Champion Community Center this weekend, has a packed schedule.
“Celebrate the Season,” sponsored by the Champion Junior Women’s Club, raises money for projects or families in the community.
It all kicks off Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. A potato bake at 11 a.m. includes cookies and a potato bar luncheon for $5.
Entertainment includes Marla Smith and her guitar students at 11:30 a.m., the Chase County Schools’ 9th Street Singers at 1 p.m., and a visit from Santa Claus at 1:30 p.m.
Interspersed in all of the activities are the beautifully decorated Christmas trees and a music box display.
Handcrafted items and baked goods will be sold and tickets are available for a raffle of a rocking dog, patio furniture, a quilt, a decorative shelf and a decorated Christmas tree. Those items are on display at McNair Agency, Inc., in Imperial.
Raffle tickets are $1 apiece or 12 for $10.
In addition, a silent auction features many items.
On Sunday, the day begins at 11 a.m. with a soup luncheon for $4. At 1:30 p.m., Jodie Schuller and her Tinkler students will perform, followed by drawings for the raffle items and the announcement of silent auction winners at 2:30 p.m.
Morayah Cupp and friends will perform beginning at 2 p.m.
Those wishing to display a tree may still do so by calling Jesse Schmidt at (308) 882-2995 or Vickie Beard at (308) 882-5763.
Those with music boxes to display may still call Emma Jenkins at (308) 883-1460 for information.
