The Chase County Schools One Act Play, “The Chronicles of Jane: Book Seven” took first place at the SPVA Conference competition in North Platte Monday.
Second place went to host Hershey Public Schools and third place went to North Platte St. Pat’s.
Coach Jill Bauerle noted that the seniors who have participated in the One Act all four years are four-time conference champions. “How awesome is that,” she exclaimed.
Making the nine-person all-conference cast were Claire Kuenne, Emma Bauerle and Tagan Mays.
Bauerle said “The cast was in sync, energetic and focused on their performance, which received a great response from the audience.”
She added, “The great aspect of this show is that the students contribute their creative ideas, musical skills and imagination to bring the author’s work to life on the stage.”
The public is invited to free showings of the play Sunday at 7 p.m. and Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium.
