Reading important to principal PDF Print E-mail

CCS Elementary Principal Susie Stewart said reading to students is something she really enjoys. She put her words into action Monday when she spent most of the school day reading to an estimated 300 students over six hours in the school library. Her reading marathon, during which she said she drank “a lot of water,” was in celebration of National Young Readers Week observed this month. K-6 classes came into the library in small groups throughout the day and Stewart read selected books provided by Library Media Specialist Lorain Vires. Just after lunch, above, these fourth graders enjoy a book about penguins. (Republican photo)
