Organizers said the near-150 youths who competed in Friday’s pedal tractor pull at the Chase County Fair was among the biggest number ever.
A total of 145 competed in the age 4-12 divisions with several more age three and younger pulling for fun before the sanctioned contest started.
Mid-Nebraska Pedal Pullers from Arcadia returned to conduct the sanctioned pull again this year in a hot Friday afternoon at the fair. They’ve been here for this event the past 20 years.
This year, trophies were awarded to first, second and third in each of the age 4 to 12 divisions for boys and girls.
In addition, each age group’s champion also earned a $25 Visa gift card.
All those boys and girls finishing in the top three at the Chase County Fair are eligible to compete in the State Fair pedal tractor pull this Saturday in Grand Island. That means a maximum of 54 youngsters from the county fair contest last week could be in Grand Island this weekend.
The kids’ pedal tractor pull was sponsored in part by Pivot Electric and Rowley Welding.
