Improvements to East 3rd St. in the Cornerstone property will again be before the Imperial city council at their meeting Monday.
Imperial’s citizens advisory committee is recommending infrastructure development on that street, currently unopened.
City Clerk/Administrator Jo Leyland said the committee is recommending a gravel road with curb and gutter from Holland east to Orsa St., and in between 2nd and 3rd Sts., with all infrastructure added (water, sewer, electric).
Payment for the proposed work would come from $200,000 in LB 840 sales tax money now in the fund, and another $250,000 in bonds to be paid back with future sales tax receipts.
East 3rd St. now has seven lots earmarked for housing. Part of the committee’s recommendation for developing that street is contingent on housing construction there by January 2017.
Other items on Monday’s council agenda:
— Consideration of a resolution to approve the November ballot question on construction of a new fire hall.
— Consideration of an agreement with the rural fire board on shared costs for operation of the Imperial Volunteer Fire Department.
— Second reading of the proposed zoning regulation updates.
— Rescheduling the Sept. 1 regular meeting which falls on Labor Day.
The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the council chambers.
Additional agenda items could be added later in the week.
