Summer ball teams start games next week PDF Print E-mail

    School is out today (Thursday), and starting next week, some of Imperial’s baseball and softball teams will jump from the classroom to the field as games get underway.
    Three of Imperial’s softball teams start games on Tuesday, May 26, while Imperial’s boys’ Pee Wee baseball teams begin action on Wednesday, May 27.
    All of the other teams start games the following week.
    Summer Recreation Director Darrin Schultz has finalized schedules and coaches for all summer teams for which he oversees, which include boys’ and girls’ T-ball, boys’ little league, girls’ pony league, Pee Wee baseball, 16 and under baseball and junior and senior softball.
    There will also be another season of the Imperial Crush wood bat baseball team and a co-ed softball league. Those leagues do scheduling on their own, but play on fields in Imperial.
    Schultz listed the following coaches for Imperial teams this summer.
T-Ball program (age 6 to 8)
    Boys will meet at Schroeder Park Mondays and Wednesdays, starting June 1, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
    Girls will meet at Schroeder Park, Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting June 2, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Boys’ little league (4 teams)
    Games at Schroeder Park Mondays and Wednesday, starting June 1, at 7:30 p.m. Coaches:
    Jeff Wallin/Chad Fisher
    Brad Dillan/Todd Burpo
    Gregg Smith/Chevy Smith
    Bruce Peterson/Carl Zuege
Girls’ pony league (2 teams)
    Playing in the traveling Tri-County North League, with games on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting May 26. Coaches:
    Imperial 1—Crystal Peterson
    Imperial 2—Nancy Christensen and Shannon Kuhlmann
Pee Wee baseball (2 teams)
    Playing in traveling Tri-County North League, with games on Wednesdays and Fridays, starting May 27. Coaches:
    Imperial 1—Brad Moline
    Imperial 2—Bob Milner
Junior girls’ softball (1 team)
    Playing in the traveling Tri-County North League, with games   on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting May 26.

Senior girls’ softball (1 team)
    Playing in the traveling Tri-County South League, with some games scheduled independently.

16 and under baseball (1 team)
    Scheduling independently. First game is set for early June.

    The Imperial Crush baseball team (19 and over) is being overseen by player/coach Matt Jablonski, with most games on Sundays starting May 31. This will be the second season for the Nebraska Baseball Association team from Imperial.
    Imperial’s co-ed softball league plays Monday nights at Schroeder Park starting June 1. Denise Smith is coordinating that league’s scheduling.
