FFA member soliciting school supplies for students

A member of Imperial FFA is collecting donated school supplies for four lucky Chase County Schools (CCS) students.
Jessica Hartman attended the FFA Washington Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. last week, along with Taylor Wilson and advisor Jason Speck.
During the conference students made “Living to Serve” plans.
Hartman chose to collect school supplies for children in need, “Because it’s something there’s a need for and school supplies are expensive.”
Hartman is asking the public to donate school supplies listed by CCS for one first grade student, one second grade student and two third grade students.
She contacted the school, which picked out the four students who would benefit the most, Hartman said.
Donation boxes will be located at Alco and at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church from Aug. 1-13 to receive the supplies.
The CCS senior said if she receives more supplies than needed, more students may be added as recipients.
