Pee Wee Black closes out regular season with pair of wins; is tourney sixth seed

It’s tournament time this week for the Tri-County Pee Wee Baseball League.
Imperial Black finished its regular season last week with two wins, and earned the No. 6 seed in the league’s tournament underway this week in Wallace.
Black finished the regular season with a 5-5 record, and faced No. 11 seed Hershey 2 in their first tournament game Tuesday afternoon.

Final regular season games
Last Wednesday, Imperial Black won a lopsided victory against Ogallala Orange in Ogallala, 20-4. The game ended after four innings due to the “run-rule.”
Imperial tallied six hits in the game. Trevor Peterson tripled, Bennett Bauerle scored two singles, while Logan Jussel, Tell Richardson and Mikael Kuhlmann all recorded singles.
On the mound, Jussel and Richardson handled Imperial’s pitching duties, combining for five strikeouts, four walks and allowing seven hits.
The team closed out its regular season Friday on the home field, defeating an Ogallala White team that refused to go away, said Coach Bruce Peterson. Imperial ended up with an 8-6 win.
Seven hits were recorded by Imperial batters. Brit Gockley and Bauerle each doubled, Jussel had two singles with Mason Nordhausen, Trevor Peterson and Kuhlmann all getting singles.
Bauerle started on the mound for Imperial, with Jussel coming in on relief. They combined for 12 strikeouts, six walks while allowing five hits.
