Pee Wee Orange is 3-1 in busy week of games PDF Print E-mail

In a busy week that included some make-up games, Imperial Pee Wee Orange finished with a 3-1 record, playing four games over three days. Three of the four were make-up contests.
At Hershey July 1, Imperial Orange took a 15-6 win. Bryce Zuege pitched the entire five innings, striking out seven and walking five.
Scott Wheeler was 3-4 at the plate with a sacrifice bunt and had three runs batted in (RBIs). Kadin Vrbas went 2-4 and recorded three RBIs.
A regularly scheduled game was played at home last Wednesday, when Imperial Orange toppled Ogallala 18-5.
On the mound for the home team were Austin Laird and Braden Space, who combined for eight strikeouts while walking 10 Ogallala batters.
Parker Dillan led Imperial at the plate, going 3-4 with two doubles and a single, and recorded four RBIs. Trevin Martin went 2-2 for Imperial with two singles and two walks, and also scored twice.
A pair of makeup games with two Paxton teams were played last Thursday in Paxton, where Imperial Orange split. They defeated Paxton 2 by a 22-3 score in the opener, but lost to Paxton 1 by a close 4-1 score.
Landis Beverly got the win in the opener with eight strikeouts and six walks.
Highlighting Imperial’s offense in the opener was Jony Chavira, who was 2-4 with a single and double. Wheeler was 2-5, including two doubles. He also stole two bases and scored twice.
Evan Fisher scored Imperial’s only run after recording a single in their 4-1 loss to Paxton 1 last week in the nightcap. That was Imperial’s only hit in the game.
Fisher was also Imperial starting pitcher, completing three innings. Bauerle came in on relief.
Imperial Orange is concluding its regular season with a game at home Wednesday this week vs. Ogallala White. They will also be on the road to Hershey 1 for a contest Friday night.
The league tournament gets underway July 15 in Wallace. It will be seeded after regular games conclude Friday.
