One of the agenda items at Monday’s 6 p.m. city council meeting is a public hearing for setting special assessments for Sage Addition property owners and others bordering West 12th St., where new streets were laid last year.
If a resolution is passed, those assessments will be set using a formula that combines lot frontage and square feet of the owner’s property. Owners can view their individual proposed assessments now at the city office, said Clerk/Administrator Jo Leyland.
Another public hearing is on the agenda requesting a zoning change from residential to commercial for the corner lot at 16th and Broadway, requested by Don and Ann Kelley. They want to construct a 40x50-foot building to store vehicles with possible plans to add a business there later.
Other agenda items include a request by the IVFD to close part of West 7th St for its July 26 Fun Day barbecue, replatting of a Railroad Addition lot sought by the coop, and discussion, requested by a neighbor, of a possible unsafe building on West 13th St.
