Toys from the 50s featured at museum PDF Print E-mail

Stan Cross of Lamar took good care of his toys when he was a youngster. He will share them with the public at the Chase County Museum in Champion this Sunday.
Growing up as an only child, Cross said he would have traded some of those toys for someone to play with, as he lived several miles from friends and cousins.
One of the toys he’ll be showing is a cast iron pair of horses pulling a circus wagon with a bear in the wagon.
He actually gave that toy as a Christmas present to his grandfather, Ben Ellis, about 1950. When his grandfather died, he received it back.
The public is asked to bring toys to display, in addition to Cross’s collection.
The museum will be open from 1-4 p.m. Sunday.
