The Imperial Republican
Dr. Daniel Koch, D.C., is now seeing patients at his clinic in Imperial, Koch Chiropractic Clinic.
Koch, 25, earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in June 2013 from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
Koch and his wife Kristin, 26, purchased Longan Chiropractic Clinic last summer. Koch completed his national boards in April and began seeing patients this month after receiving his national and state licenses.
In the interim, Dr. Jerry Brandt, D.C., of Holyoke, Colo., has been seeing patients here until Koch’s licensing was complete.
At an early age, Koch suffered from migraine headaches. After trying a number of treatments, it was chiropractic treatment from Dr. Brandt, beginning at age six, that offered relief from the headaches.
That life experience led Koch to pursue a career in chiropractic as a means of helping people lead a higher quality of life.
He said each individual’s spine is unique, so he uses treatment techniques to fit the patient. It’s the patient that guides the course of treatment, he added.
Providing affordable, accessible, quality-driven care will improve one’s quality of life, he noted.
The clinic remains at the same location as Longan’s clinic, 441 Broadway. The phone number is also the same, 308-882-5532.
Koch said the clinic will begin with hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. He said those hours could be adjusted earlier or later in the future to accommodate patients’ schedules.
Koch said he is accepting new patients and all previous patient files and history maintained by Longan remain with the clinic.
He said he is currently working with insurance companies to be included in their care networks. He has also applied for status with Medicare.
An open house for the clinic is being planned at a future date.
Kochs are Holyoke natives
Kochs are both natives of Holyoke, Colo., and their parents still live in Holyoke and the surrounding area.
After attending the University of Northern Colorado for two years, Koch transferred to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
There, he finished his bachelor’s degree and completed more than three years of chiropractic studies.
He also completed additional training, earning certification in advanced chiropractic treatment procedures.
After attending the University of Colorado for two years, Kristin finished her accounting degree at Western Illinois University in 2010. She is now a credit analyst for Adams Bank & Trust, working out of the Imperial branch.
The couple, married in 2011, welcomed their first child, Haley Paige, born in December 2013.
Koch said they have found Imperial to be the type of community they were looking for in terms of raising a family and building a practice.
