The gas and diesel pumps will be activated this week at Frenchman Valley Coop’s new location at the former Bart’s Corner in Imperial.
Coop Manager Doug Ohlson also said the adjacent convenience store will also open in late June.
It is currently being completely remodeled. When stocked it will offer convenience store items, as well as hot breakfast, sandwich and pizza items.
The four gas and three diesel pumps will be initially run by credit card. After the convenience store opens, cash will be accepted, Ohlson said.
The Coop poured cement, updated the pumps and installed software at the site on the corner of Highways 6 and 61.
“We really cleaned it up,” Ohlson commented.
He said the site will be convenient for truck traffic, but expects all fuel volumes to increase.
Candy Druse and Al Roscigno will manage the site, which will have two full time and three to four part time employees. Ohlson said the new location has already been staffed.
The former Bart’s Corner has been closed since early 2013. FVC purchased the site in late 2013.
