Veterans to be remembered with Memorial Day service PDF Print E-mail

Veterans past, present and future will be recognized with a service at Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial on Monday, Memorial Day.
Andrew Kinder VFW Post #4688 will provide a color guard, a firing squad and the laying of wreaths on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
In addition, the featured speaker will be Dr. Brad Schoeppey, whose son Amon is a Specialist in Explosive Ordinance Disposal for the United States Army, stationed in Fort Hood, Texas.
Dr. Schoeppey said his speech will examine both educational and parental perspectives on Memorial Day.
He is the superintendent at Chase County Schools.
The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m.
On Thursday, prior to Memorial Day, members of the VFW and Auxiliary will place small flags on each veteran’s grave at Mount Hope Cemetery.
