No information available concerning Wright’s death PDF Print E-mail

The Hitchcock County Sheriff’s office issued a press release April 16 stating a body found four miles southwest of Palisade on April 12 had been identified as that of 18-year-old Austin J. Wright after a preliminary autopsy.
Wright was reported missing by his family on March 9.
The Hitchcock County Sheriff’s office April 16 release stated that no more information will be released at this time as the investigation into Wright’s death is ongoing. As of Tuesday morning, no more information had been made available.
According to Wright’s obituary published in the McCook Daily Gazette, he attended Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte. Prior to that he attended McCook Public Schools in McCook and Engleman Elementary and Shoemaker Elementary in Grand Island.
Wright also attended Wauneta-Palisade Public Schools for a short time during the 2011-2012 school year.
Funeral services for Wright were held Monday at the Hamlet Union Church in Hamlet.
