A 42-year-old Wauneta woman is in the Chase County Jail after her arrest Tuesday on possession of methamphetamine and other charges.
Tina Barnard was stopped about 11:20 a.m. between 6th and 7th Sts. on Broadway in Imperial for driving under a suspended license.
County Sheriff Kevin Mueller said a plastic bag containing a small amount of meth was then allegedly discovered during a search conducted by Deputy Spencer Rowley. A pipe was also allegedly confiscated, he said.
Following her arrest, further investigation of the 2005 Cadillac four-door she was driving was conducted by Rowley and State Patrol Sgt. Joel Smith as it was parked on Broadway.
The sheriff said Barnard was formally charged with possession of a controlled substance (meth), a felony, and misdemeanor charges of driving under suspension and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bond was set at $25,000. She could be released by posting 10 percent.
Barnard was scheduled for arraignment on the three charges in Chase County Court Wednesday this week.
