Soccer U19, U14 teams start play this weekend PDF Print E-mail
Younger teams will kick off 2014 season April 5

While most of the teams in Imperial’s soccer league start play Saturday, April 5, some of the older teams open their seasons this coming week.
Coordinator Bruce Peterson said the two Imperial U14 teams (grades 6-8) have matches scheduled this Saturday, one in Imperial and one on the road.
Fans can take in the home U14 match featuring Imperial 1 vs. Perkins Co. 1 at 4 p.m. at Wellington field. The Imperial 2 U14 team travels to Ogallala on Saturday for a 4 p.m. contest.
Imperial’s U19 (high school) team has its first match on Tuesday, April 1, in Grant starting at 6:15 p.m.
All of Imperial’s other teams age 12 and younger will start play on April 5 at the Schroeder Park fields. Peterson said matches will run from 9 a.m. to 12 noon each Saturday through May 3.
There are 235 youths registered for 23 Imperial teams, Peterson said.
The breakdown is as follows:
U19 (high school)—One.
U14 (grades 6-8)—Two.
U12 (grades 3-5)—Six
U9 (grades 1-2)—Six.
U6 (pre-K and K)—Eight.
