Eleven individuals or teams from Chase County Schools (CCS) will be participating in the district speech contest at Gering High School today (Thursday), hoping to win a chance at state.
Coach Jill Bauerle said, “The top three in finals go to state. Getting to the finals is a key factor and depends on the luck of the round.”
The following will be competing for CCS:
Andrea Hogsett and Kelly Christensen in poetry; Anna Bauerle in persuasive speaking; Jessica Hartman in informative and entertainment speaking; Emma Bauerle in entertainment speaking; Molly Luhrs in serious prose; Calen Griffin and Mindy Castle in extemporaneous speaking; Tagan Mays and Kadyn Milner in duet acting; Dawn Castle in humorous prose, and the oral interpretation of drama teams of Rose Sullivan, Kelly Christensen, Claire Kuenne and Josie Peterson, and Anna Bauerle, Emma Bauerle and MaKenna Ketter.
Other schools participating in the C1-6 district competition are Ainsworth, Bridgeport, Gordon-Rushville, Hershey, Kimball, Mitchell and Valentine High Schools.
