Numbers up on Longhorn track teams PDF Print E-mail

Weather conditions were near perfect for the start of high school track practice the past week for the Longhorn boys’ and girls’ teams. On Monday, the sprinters were at the track working on drills and general conditioning as temperatures climbed into the mid-70s. The CCS coaches are pleased with the numbers out this season with 35 boys and 29 girls on the respective team rosters. That’s up from the 30 boys and 22 girls who reported the first week of practice in the 2013 season. The girls started workouts last Wednesday after check-out March 3-4, while the boys held their first practice Monday this week due to a longer basketball season. The Longhorn teams will travel to their first meet Saturday, March 29, in Cambridge. CCS will host its home meet April 22, while the SPVA Conference meet will be hosted by Perkins County on May 2.
