Police department receives grant for two in-car cameras PDF Print E-mail

The Imperial Police Department (IPD) is receiving grant funding assistance for obtaining two in-car camera systems, according to Fred Zwonechek, Administrator for the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
“This highway safety grant funding in the amount of $6,592.50 will aid the Imperial Police Department in purchasing two camera systems,” Zwonechek said.
Police Chief Ryan Wisnieski said the two additional cameras will aid the IPD in having all four police cars equipped.
Nebraska has once again qualified for highway safety alcohol incentive funds. The Nebraska Office of Highway Safety has utilized this funding to aid local law enforcement in obtaining in-car cameras and alcohol testing equipment used to assist in the apprehension and conviction of drinking drivers.
“This funding and the ongoing persistence of law enforcement personnel continues to impact alcohol-related crashes and the resulting injuries and fatalities,” Zwonechek said.
