The Imperial Chamber of Commerce had a great turnout at the Ag Fair held Feb. 12.
As a Chamber, we appreciate and recognize the impact that agriculture has on our community, and the Ag Fair was a great way to express that, as well as our thanks to those involved in this industry. Also, as a result of the Ag Fair, Chamber has a new member, Champa Group LLC from Wauneta. We look forward to working with Rod and his staff.
The first Dessert Wars was held Feb. 20 with eight entries. Courtney Burke was the chair of this “maiden voyage” of the Wars, and we gained a lot of experience and input for next year’s event. A huge thanks goes to all entrants (and their support teams). We hope to see you all next year.
Looking ahead, our next event is the third Annual Chili Cook-off to be held March 13 with Jack Schnieder as chair again this year. Watch for more details on this and get those recipes out.
In conjunction with the City of Imperial, the Chamber is working on nominations and selections for the Business Retention and Expansion awards again this year, giving special recognition to outstanding member effort in several categories. The awards will be presented on May 6 during the After Hours Chamber event held at Pinnacle Bank.
Many other events are being planned to help promote the great community that we live in and to express the Chamber’s appreciation for our customers and patrons.
