History behind Longhorn school mascot sought PDF Print E-mail
Who might still be alive who would know the history behind why the local high school uses the Longhorn as its mascot?
Or who might know where to go to find such information?
Such are the questions recently raised by Joan Wenzlick, historian of the Chase County Schools Alumni Association, when she received a request for information from a woman in Omaha who is attempting to write a book about Nebraska high school mascots.
Thus, a search for information has begun. In the meantime, many people have raised names of someone who probably would have known. However, those people are gone. That makes it even more important to put that question out there in case someone is still around who does know.
