“A Healthy Commitment in Changing Times” will serve as the theme for this year’s National Hospital Week celebration at the Chase County Community Hospital.
National Hospital Week, which dates back to 1921, is the nation’s largest health care celebration with participants in every state. It runs from May 10-16.
Hospital Administrator Lola Jones said the primary purpose of Hospital Week is to spotlight the work and dedication of staff members of the CCCH and clinic.
She noted the health care sector  feels the impact of change like any other business operation. But one thing that doesn’t change, she said, is the commitment of staff to provide patients with the care they expect and deserve.
The people who meet the daily health care needs of the area are a committed, compassionate contingent united by that calling to help others, she noted.
She said the hospital  uses Hospital Week to recognize all of its staff for their hard work in serving the needs of their patients.
Activities planned next week include a staff breakfast Monday morning; a chili cook-off Tuesday; brownie fudge sundae treats Wednesday; build-your-own sub lunch on Thursday; root beer floats Friday; and treating the night shift to pizza on Saturday.
In addition, employees will receive an appreciation gift from the hospital.
