It’s been a slow week at the Chase County Clerk’s office for election filers. As of Tuesday afternoon, the only new filings for local offices were Bill Bischoff, who filed for re-election to the Wauneta-Palisade Schools Board last Thursday and Dan Reeves, who re-filed for the Chase County Schools Board of Education Tuesday afternoon.

The majority of incumbents, those who currently hold an elected office, have until Feb. 18 to file–even if they choose to run for a different office. New filers for most positions have an additional two weeks to file, until March 3.

However, incumbents filing for openings on the Wauneta Village Board, Lamar Village Board, Imperial Public Power District, Southwest Public Power District and the Educational Service Unit openings have until July 15 to file. New filers for these positions have until Aug. 1 to file.
