|Pan Jumbies ensemble to bring Caribbean sound to Holyoke|
Phillips County Arts Council presents the Pan Jumbies—Colorado’s professional source for Caribbean steel band music. The band will take the stage Sunday, Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. at the Holyoke High School auditorium.
The Pan Jumbies is one of North America’s finest steel pan ensembles. Mastering the intricacies of Caribbean music has been the goal of the band since its inception in 1987. Led by acclaimed steel pan artist Don Prorak, Pan Jumbies mixes calypso, soca, reggae, jazz and more into a vivid world-beat mosaic.
The shimmering brilliance of the steel pans, the warm wooden tones of the marimba and enigmatic vocals dance on the waves of the dynamic rhythm section. These styles create a musical journey worth remembering. Blending artistry and entertainment, Pan Jumbies delivers fun and musical artistry for audiences of all ages.
Holders of Phillips County Arts Council concert series memberships will be admitted with their tickets. Concert series tickets from Morgan County, Burlington, North Platte, and McCook, will also be accepted. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $15 each.
