Owners of the Brickstone Grille & sports Bar announced this week that Friday, Jan. 31, will be their final night of operation.
Sisters Beth Bremer and Lisa Mintling purchased the restaurant and opened it in October 2010.
The said they will open for the last time on Friday evening, Jan. 31, from 4-9:30 p.m.
Both said the business has been non-stop and all-consuming.
Once they got into it, Beth said she realized that running a restaurant was something she couldn’t do for more than five years.
Both said one of the biggest challenges has been hiring and keeping good staff.
In the past few months, they said that’s become a bigger issue, prompting them to make the decision to close now.
Both said they look forward to some down time and spending more time with their families.
They said they don’t plan to offer the business for sale at this time. However, it would be something they’d consider if someone has interest in it.
If not, they plan to keep the building for a future business venture and will sell the restaurant equipment.
In the future, they look to open a fitness-based business offering training, exercise classes, organic foods and personal health items.
They expressed their appreciation for the community’s support during the last three and a half years.
“It’s been a great learning experience,” Beth said, noting they will put that experience to use in their future ventures.
They also asked patrons who have gift certificates to come in and use them prior to closing.
