With only five varsity wrestlers making the trip to the Ogallala Wrestling Dual Tournament Saturday, there was not much of a chance of winning any of the dual match-ups.
However, the meet was a good tune-up for the Chase County Wrestling Invitational to be held in Imperial this Saturday.
Hunter Dillan had the best day of his young wrestling career, winning four matches by pinfall and another by forfiet.
Dillan only allowed one of his opponents to make it out of the first round. Toray Smith of Ogallala managed to make it to the last second of the second periodĀ  before he was pinned.
Bryson Fisher ended the day with three wins by pinfall and two losses by pin.
Colton Burpo finished with a 3-2 record, pinning one, recieving two forfiets and losing two by pin.
Khris Kuhlmann went 2-3 in the 160 pound division. Kuhlmann secured one of the fastestĀ  pins of the day over Nick Heiser of Hershey in just 0:57 and received a forfeit from Gothenburg. In his other three matches of the day, Kuhlmann lost by pin.
Adam Burpo got some good experience on the varsity squad, but was unable to secure a victory, going 0-5.
The Longhorns lost a wrestler at the 152 pound weight class. Jake Lueth moved to Wray at the end of the semester, opening that spot. Austin White did not participate in Ogallala, nor did Zach Space.
Space has been sidelined with an injury sustained in football that looks to keep him from wrestling the entire season.

Next action
Saturday, the Longhorns will be hosting the Chase County Invitational. Wrestling will begin in the Longhorn gym at 9 a.m.
At the present time there are 17 teams expected for the tournament. Some of the new additions are Minatare, Sidney and Sedgwick County (Julesburg).
Due to the number of teams, Head Coach Matt Vlasin said there would not be a junior varsity division in the tournament.
If a team choses to enter junior varsity wrestlers, they will be placed in the varsity bracket if there is room or a round robin scenario may be used.
Chase County chose not to take any wrestlers to the junior varsity tournament held in Grant on Jan. 14.
