By Jan Schultz The Imperial Republican February’s proceeds from the city’s one percent sales tax were lower than any month since November, 2007, but still brought in over $25,000. The monthly report from the Nebraska Dept. of Revenue shows a total of $25,195.74 for February. After the $2,950.86 (from motor vehicle sales tax) was taken out, a total of $22,244.88 was left from February’s proceeds to divide 50/50 between community projects and economic development efforts. Comparing proceeds from this February to February, 2008, it’s about $150 less this year. The chart accompanying this story shows all of the total receipts since the city sales tax started in April, 2007. |
