Chase County seniors Anna Bauerle and Tapainga Kahle will be part of the Doane College Vocal Festival Honor Choir.
Set for January, the first rehearsal will begin on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 12, with a final concert the next night at 6:30 p.m. CT on the Doane campus.
Kahle was chosen as part of the soprano I section, while Bauerle will be performing as an alto II.
Both Chase County Schools vocalists will also be eligible to perform audition solos to be considered for the final concert if they choose to do so, said CCS Director Randy Hayes.
“This should be an excellent Festival Choir as most singers will have been members of the Nebraska All-State Chorus in November,” Hayes said.
This year, more than 400 students from over 70 different schools applied for the Doane Vocal Festival. Selection was based on, but not limited to, tone quality, vocal range, sight-reading skills, solo performance and director evaluation.
