Chemigation training scheduled May 13 in Imperial PDF Print E-mail
Chemigation training will be held Monday, May 13, from 1:30-4:30 p.m. (MT) at the NRD building in Imperial. Pre-registration is necessary to attend this meeting.
Chemigation training is a requirement for ag producers to apply chemicals through their irrigation systems, says Robert Tigner, UNL Extension Educator for SW4.
The Nebraska Chemical Act requires anyone that applies chemicals though an irrigation system, whether that be through gaited pipe or center pivot systems, to take the chemigation training and become certified.
In order to become certified producers need to: register at their local extension office, pay a registration fee for study materials, attend training and pass a written test. It is recommended to review the chemigation materials prior to coming to the class, as passing the written test is a requirement of certification.
People taking the training for the first time will receive a chemigation notebook at the meeting.
The cost for the training is $20 for initial certification and $15 for recertification.
To register for the training in Imperial call the UNL Extension Office in Imperial at 308-882-4731.
Pre-registration is necessary by May 6 to ensure materials for the meeting.
