Three members of the Imperial FFA chapter did well on their proficiency projects the past year.
Karlee Kunnemann, Paula Leibbrandt and Shelby Frasier all earned the first gold in their proficiency categories in district competition earlier this year, and were among a total of seven Imperial FFA members whose proficiencies were judged at the state convention.
Only the first, second and third golds from district competition qualify for state.
The seven from the Imperial FFA chapter who earned district golds and qualified for state, listed with their proficiency areas, include:
Karlee Kunnemann—beef production entrepreneurship, first gold.
Paula Leibbrandt—vegetable production entrepreneurship, first gold.
Shelby Frasier—equine science entrepreneurship, first gold.
Alex Strand—diversified crop placement, third gold.
Jonathan Hess—beef production placement, second gold.
Charles Haarberg—diversified crop placement, second gold.
Kerry Swanson—agricultural sales placement, second gold.
Out of the seven who competed at state, Leibbrandt placed second in the vegetable production entrepreneurship, just missing a chance to compete at nationals.
