The completion of the second annual The Gift project is near. All gifts not being delivered as planned by the nine churches participating should be picked up by families at Imperial United Methodist Church Dec. 19 from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Originally some gifts were to have been picked up at Chase County Schools. However, due to the large numbers of families involved, the site was changed to the church.
Coordinator Amy Prior said, “This holiday I have had people from other towns adopt families, I have had organizations donate, kids recommending families, school groups helping, families receiving gifts also donating to The Gift, and the list goes on.”
Over 70 families will be helped with this year’s effort. “This project has affected so many people that words just really don’t work,” Prior stated.
All persons donating items to The Gift should have them at the Methodist Church between 8:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Dec. 18.
