December’s school board
meeting moved day earlier

Due to the K-6 Christmas concert on Tuesday, Dec. 10, the monthly meeting of the Chase County Schools board of education has been moved to Monday, Dec. 9.
Normally, the school board meets on the second Tuesday of the month.
Starting time for the meeting next week is 6 p.m. in the board room.
Children’s movies at library
Monday is now Movie Monday at the Lied Imperial Public Library. During December, G or PG movies will be shown from 4-5:30 p.m. for children in grades 3-6.
Parents wanting to know what movie is showing may call the library at (308) 882-4754.
Library calendar being released
The “Thanks to Our Volunteers” 2014 calendar being sold by Friends of the Library is now available. Those who pre-ordered the calendar may pick them up at the Lied Imperial Public Library.
Calendars will also be available at the soup and pie supper at St. Patrick’s Catholic Parish Hall today (Thursday).
After Dec. 5, the calendars will be $8 and will be available at the library.
Beau McCoy to visit Imperial this Friday
Republican gubernatorial candidate State Sen. Beau McCoy of Omaha will be visiting the Imperial area Friday.
McCoy is among a crowded field seeking the  Republican nomination for governor.
During his visit here, he will visit AK Acres and make several other stops. No public gathering is planned.
