School patrons reading the 2012-13 elementary yearbook at Chase County Schools are perusing a prize-winning publication.
Yearbook Coordinator Lorain Vires was notified last week that the yearbook won second place in the Legacy yearbook Contest, and will receive a $250 prize.
Sponsor of the contest is Inter-State Studio and Publishing Co.
The 2012-13 CCS elementary yearbook covers K-8 activities with a lot of colorful photographs of individuals and activities, topped with a modern orange and black cover.
Entries were judged on design and creativity, theme and development, photography, written content and overall impression.
First place elementary winner went to Siloam Springs (Ark.) Middle School, while third went to Erik Ramstad Middle School in Minot, N.D.
Vires said she plans to pass the prize money on in a price reduction for this year’s publication.
