The lanes were hot and the bowlers were too, at the district Special Olympics tournament in North Platte Saturday. Imperial’s team received ribbons and/or medals at the meet.
Bowling is “unified” in Special Olympics, which means that one challenged bowler pairs with a non-challenged bowler.
The teams, under the direction of Coach Alex Marshall, scored the following:
Dustin Holmes and Anne Kelley, first with 348 and 377 respectively:
Eddie Lopez and Nickolas Rau, second, with 186 and 252 respectively:
Ryan Leibhart and Tom Rau, third, with 417 and 377 respectively:
Nathanael Rau and Remmington Yaw, fourth, with 128 and 163 respectively:
Delaney Krutsinger and Samantha Oxford, fourth, with 191 and 272 respectively.
The team will have a fun bowling night tonight (Thursday), with possibly an athlete-only tournament in Ogallala Dec. 14.
