Chase County Schools’ Imperial FFA Market Plan team will be competing nationally this week in Indianapolis, as the National FFA Convention takes place.
The team of Sam Haarberg, Tyler Oxford and Blair Hartman won the state championship in Lincoln in April.
Also earning a state championship last spring was the Senior Parliamentary Procedure Team. Due to the absence of team member Shandra Johnson, the team will attend Nationals as observers instead of competitors, according to FFA Advisor Jason Speck.
Those team members are Cassie Burpo, Ashlin Bussell, Callin Ledall, Justin German and Spencer Hartman, who will also be representing the Nebraska FFA as president.
CCS 2012 graduate Jared Knobbe is a National Proficiency Finalist in Agricultural Service. Knobbe has owned a horse shoeing business for several years.
Obtaining their American Degrees at the national convention will be Michaela Ketter in Placement for working for Longhorn Lawn Care; Trevor Oxford, Placement, for working at Imperial Super Foods; Knobbe, for his horse shoeing business, and Alexa Bernhardt, Placement, for working for Bernhardt Farms. They are all 2012 CCS graduates.
Delegates include Derek Schilke, Bailey Springer, Abbi Vetter, Jessica Hartman, Kevin Chavira, Eric Chavira, Taylor Wilson, Trey Bahler, Dawn Castle and Cade Francis.
Imperial FFA left Tuesday for the national convention and will return Nov. 2.
