The weather was cool but excitement was hot at the Cox’s Ponds pumpkin patch over the weekend. People from western Nebraska, eastern Colorado and northern Kansas made the trip to the Halloween fun spot.
Besides the corn maze tour, there were pony rides, a petting zoo, family pictures taken, food for sale, crafts, a scarecrow contest and more. New this year were camel rides.
Kayla Holms won the adult scarecrow division with a Chase County Schools drummer. Tessa Jo Robinson won the children’s division with a pumpkin driving a car.
Cox’s Ponds pumpkin patch is hosted by Jeanine Cox, Ed and Arlys Cupp and Kelsey and Tim Steinkraus on the family farm near Champion.
