Sunday’s annual Life Chain makes public, prayerful protest PDF Print E-mail

Fifty people, from young children to senior citizens and representing area churches, spent an hour along a three-block section of Imperial’s Broadway Street Sunday afternoon in a silent protest against abortion, which now has been the law of the land for more than 40 years. Each fall on the first Sunday of October, the Life Chain is organized throughout the United States and Canada and, this year, was expected to break numbers in organized Life Chains. The Life Chain in Imperial often draws entire families, such as Rev. David, Merinda and Tapainga Kahle, above. Fighting the windy afternoon to keep their signs up were, below from left, Sophie Spady, Laura Vaverek and Rebecca Vaverek. (Republican photos)
