Concrete paving on the 44-foot wide West 12th Street was finished this week, and crews anticipate pouring Sage Street and West 11th next week.
City Public Works Supt. Pat Davison said the Werner Construction crew anticipates reopening West 12th maybe by Tuesday next week so the Sage Addition can be accessed once work starts on West 11th, the only other entrance into that addition.
When West 12th is reopened to traffic, people wanting to access the addition will have just the Bluestem Street access off West 12th, Davison said.
On Wednesday morning, the crews were working on the cement pouring at the West 12th intersections of Bluestem and Buffalo. Bluestem was done first, so it will be able to set long enough before opening to traffic next week.
The crews planned to pour the West 12th and Buffalo St. intersection later on Wednesday.
With the completion of West 12th St., the majority of concrete paving is finished. A look at the accompanying map shows what is left to finish.
Church parking affected
Davison said the West 12th and West 11th paving will affect parking for services at the Imperial Bible Church this Sunday and next.
This weekend, churchgoers there will have to use West 11th Street for parking.
On Sunday, Oct. 13, West 11th will be closed, so parking will be available on Sage, east of the church, or along West 12th and possibly Buffalo St., Davison said.
