The 11th Annual Chase County Antique Tractor Pull culminated Chase County Fair activities Sunday, Aug. 18.
The pull included 97 tractors and pickup hooks.
Competitors came from three states Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska to compete for points in the Platte Valley Tractor Pullers Association.
Men and women drivers ranged in age from 7 to 80-something years-old.
Tractors had to be 1957 or older to compete in divisions 4, 5 and 6 and 1960 or older to compete in divisions 1, 2 and 3.
Gas-powered, propane-powered and diesel-powered tractors competed.
Tractor classes ranged from 3,500 lbs. to 9,500 lbs. with five divisions in each weight class.
The variety of tractors included: John Deere, International, Massey Harris, Oliver and Minneapolis-Moline.
The divisions ranged from stock tractors to division 4 tractors, which are highly modified tractors with no speed limit.
There were pickup pullers from Broadwater, Bridgeport, Scottsbluff and Kearney. The pickups that pulled were stock and lightly modified from the 1970’s and 80’s era. Pickups pulling had to be gas powered.
