Eight teams of cheerleaders and dance teams from schools and a dance studio entertained their audience Aug. 17 at the Chase County Fair. Music for all ages, but mainly for the young, pounded, as did the dancers’ feet.
The Ogallala Indianettes took first place in the contest, winning $350. The Arapaho Rioters, a new organization, took second place for $250.
The Perkins County Cheerleaders took third place, winning $150.
Also competing were the Wray (Colo.) Eagles, the Hershey Dazzler Dance Team, the Chase County Cheerleaders, the Kimball Cheer Team and the North Platte Stage Dance Team.
Sponsors for the event were The ColorBox and Owens True Value.
