|Kidnapping victim freed; search continues for abductor|
IMPERIAL—Julie Hanes, 38, of Lincoln was freed by her estranged husband and abductor about 6:25 p.m. MDT. After her release from a corn field about two miles northwest of Imperial, Imperial Police Chief Rob Browning brought her to a staging area. She was later transported by Imperial EMS to the local hospital.
Law enforcement officials from numerous local, county, state and federal agencies continued the search into the evening for Dwayne Lawrence, 38, also of Lincoln. They were concentrating on the area of the corn fields where Hanes was released.
Lawrence allegedly abducted Hanes at gunpoint from the Lincoln hair salon Hanes owns at 27th and O streets.
After Hanes' release, she was met by a family member at the staging site.
Hanes' parents and brother, his wife and family live in Imperial.
