The Pedal Tractor Pull was a busy event again this year at the Chase County Fair. Nearly 140 youngsters between the ages of four and 12 participated in the Pull this year, up from the 125 who participated last year.
Pre-Pull entertainment was provided by kids three and under, who started things off with pedal races.
The top three boys and top three girls in each age category qualify for the Pedal Tractor Pull at the State Fair. In addition, the first place girl and boy in each age category received a gift certificate to a local business.
Mid-Nebraska Pedal Pullers  provided the equipment and ran the event. Bruce Ash with Mid-Nebraska Pedal Pullers said the Chase County Fair event, with 139 contestants, was their biggest of the year.
“You’ve got a great fair, I’d put it up against any in the state,” said Ash.
Pivot Electric and Rowley Welding sponsored the event and their employees helped keep things going throughout.
Gift certificate prizes were provided by Kelly Beard Trucking and Platinum T-Shirt and Embroidery. Pepsi donated pop for all of the Pedal Tractor Pull contestants.
