School supplies being collected PDF Print E-mail

For the second year, Adams Bank & Trust is collecting school supplies for children at Chase County Schools (CCS) who may not have what they need for the school year.
Coordinator Audra Schilke said things such as backpacks, glue sticks, pencils, notebooks, folders, tissues, socks and crayons will be collected all of August at the bank.
A list of the school supplies required at CCS is available at the bank for those who want to take one shopping with them.
Gently used items such as backpacks may be donated.
As the school year begins, teachers will evaluate what students need, and the bank will make sure the student is matched with the donated supplies.
Schilke explained that donating the supplies will allow children to focus on learning and not what supplies they need for school.
This is the second year the bank has sponsored the project. “We had an excellent turnout last year,” Schilke noted, with 25 bags of supplies taken to the school.
“I hope we have an excellent turnout again this year,” she added.
