CCCH Cancer Walk set for Sept. 21 in Wauneta
The annual Chase County Community Hospital Cancer Walk will be held Sept. 21 in Wauneta. Headquarters for the event will be the Wauneta Legion Hall.
The theme for the 2013 event will be Childhood Cancer. September is also Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Registration for the walk will begin at 7:30 a.m. with activities wrapping up around noon.
This year will feature the traditional activities of a walking route through the town of Wauneta, silent auction and speakers. A power point slide show is being developed that will feature youths from the area who have faced the challenges of cancer.
The Cancer Walk committee is asking parents of children who have dealt with cancer to provide photos of their children for the presentation. The focus of this presentation is to honor and support young people who have faced cancer and provide a message of hope.
For more information on the presentation, contact Jen Harris at 882-7327.
Pre-registration information will be made available July 27 during Harvest Fest in Wauneta. A registration booth will be set up near the Wauneta clinic one hour before until one hour after the festival’s parade. Information will also be passed out through the parade route.
After that, pre-registration forms and information can be picked up at the Wauneta Clinic, Imperial Clinic and Chase County Community Hospital. Registration forms can also be downloaded from the Chase County Community Hospital Website beginning July 27.
